Synopsis

Surviving the Moon is a story about a family forced to move
to another region in their country after the government installs a new law mandating that all immigrants leave which cause widespread mayhem. The country looses order and new formed military crushes any new opposition that harbor immigrants or support them. They find themselves trying to adapt to another region. Soon they find the new region struggles are very complex. They navigate through the new regions issues, but not without a challenge. The families children are bullied and laughed at because they do not speak the language in their dialect nor understand the regions culture. But the parents are very strong and teach their children how to cope with their new environment. The complexity of the story heightens when the countries government begins to adopt a nationalist philosophy and thus creates discrimination in the country they live in but the people in the city fight back and push away this philosophy and unite with the immigrants. It surprises the family and becomes a teachable moment for all people that we all are humankind and no matter the culture, color, or affiliation we all want the same things.
